Minden Hills

Minden Hills is a city on the Gull River in Ontario, Canada, with approximately 5,500 inhabitants. It is the administrative center and county town of the district of Haliburton County. Minden, Ontario, was named in reference to the city of Minden in North Rhine -Westphalia.

The settlement began in the mid -19th century, after numerous settlers moved due to the forests in this area and built sawmills. Minden Hills is now primarily a tourist area.

It is close to both the Gull Lake and the Lake Minden - which the city gave its name.
