Mineral County (Colorado)
The Mineral County is a county located in the state of Colorado of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Creede. The County was named after the many valuable minerals that are found in the mountains and streams of this area. Mineral County is one of the most sparsely populated counties in Colorado.

According to the census of 2000, there were 831 people in the county. There were 377 households and 251 families. The population density was 0.1 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 96.87 percent White, 0.84 percent Native American, and 0.12 percent from other races; 2.17 percent were descended from two or more races. 2.05 percent of the total population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 377 households out of which 22.3 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 57.0 percent were married couples living together, 5.8 percent were single mothers. 33.4 percent were non-families. 28.1 percent of all households and 9.8 percent had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.70 persons.
Based on the county the population was spread from 20.5 percent population under 18 years, 4.7 percent between 18 and 24 years, 24.8 percent between 25 and 44 years, 32.7 percent between 45 and 64 years and 17.3 percent were 65 years old or older.
