Minidoka County, Idaho

Minidoka County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Rupert.

Geography

The County is located in south-central Idaho, is about 70 km from Nevada and Utah away and has an area of ​​1976 square kilometers, of which nine square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Blaine County, Cassia County, Jerome County and Lincoln County. It lies entirely in the plane of the Snake River Plain. In the county there are parts of the Craters of the Moon National Monument.

History

Minidoka County was formed on January 28, 1913 from parts of Lincoln County. It was named after the first settlement in this area.

Demographic data
