Ministry of Women's Affairs (Afghanistan)

The Afghan Ministry of Women (Persian وزارت امورزنان افغانستان; Pashtun د ښځو چارو وزارت, English Ministry of Women's Affairs ) is a created after the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan Ministry. It is responsible for strengthening the rights of women in Afghanistan.

  • Habiba Sorabi June 2002 to March 2005
  • Hosn Banu Ghazanfar since 2006.

Women's Shelters

The ministry said on February 15, 2011 that it plans to various international non-governmental organizations to withdraw the control of the women's shelters in Afghanistan and to take over itself. In early March 2011, the claim was withdrawn and instead decided to set up a joint commission.
