Minnesota Swarm

The Minnesota Swarm are a team of North American National Lacrosse League ( NLL ), headquartered in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

History

The team of Minnesota Swarn was founded in 2004 when the Minnesota Sports & Entertainment, which also includes the Minnesota Wild Hockey Team heard, took over the license rights of the inactive Montreal Express. On 10 December 2004, the newly formed team completed before over 14,000 spectators their first preseason game against the Colorado Mammoth. The first game of the NLL season on 1 January 2005 won the Swarm at the Rochester Knighthawks at 12:11. The first season ended with five wins in eleven defeats. As a fifth place in the Eastern Division of the team missed so a place in the playoffs. In the seasons of 2006 and 2007, the team managed to qualify in fourth and third in the division for the playoffs, but failed in each division semifinals. 2008, the first season will be finished as Division first, but as in the previous two years left the Swarm in the playoffs in the semifinals.
