Mint sauce
Mint sauce (English mint sauce, French sauce or sauce à la menthe Menthe ) is a classic cold sauce of English cuisine.
Prepared it is made from fresh chopped spearmint, hot water, vinegar and some brown sugar; sometimes a little lemon juice is still added. After reconstitution, the thick sauce must go through.
Mint sauce is served cold with both cold and hot meat dishes, lamb and mutton typically.
