Minttu

Minttu is the name of a liqueur from Finland.

Minttu heard Lakka next to the most famous spirits from Finland. It is a 1979 introduced on the market peppermint schnapps, which it ( for export only ) are 40 % and 50 % alcohol. Produces Minttu in Turku by the company V & S Finland, a subsidiary of V & S Group.

Minttu was the first pure peppermint schnapps in the world. The taste is minty - sweet. Since 2007, new, flavored versions were introduced, which have a reduced alcohol content of 35 %. Currently, there are varieties Minttu Peppermint (Original ) Black Mint ( with Salmiakgeschmack ), Chili and Mint Choco Mint. Often the liqueur liquor is cooled presented as shot. For this purpose, it is placed in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator where it is thicker and form small pieces of ice. In Finland it is often eaten together with hot or cold drinking chocolate.
