Houston Astros (MLB) (since 2000)

Minute Maid Park is a ballpark in Houston, Texas. It is the home of the Houston Astros, a Major League Baseball team in the National League. Currently, the stadium holds 40,950 spectators.

History

The stadium replaced the Astrodome, which was the home of the Astros until then. A new feature of the Minute Maid Park has a sliding roof, which also allows outdoor games. Originally the naming rights were sold in a 30 - year contract for $ 100 million to Enron. As the energy company soon after as part of a major corporate scandal went bankrupt, the management bought back the naming rights for $ 2.1 million. Unofficially, the stadium was then often referred to as " The Field Formerly Known As Enron ". On 5 June 2002, the naming rights to the next 28 years could eventually be sold to Minute Maid, a fruit juice subsidiary of Coca-Cola, for a price of USD 100 million.

In the 2004 season, Wi- Fi reception was set up in the stadium. This offers viewers during the game chargeable internet access.

In the middle outfield there is a small hill belongs to the field. Many a batted ball on him caused a failed back pass, as the roll-off curve of the ball from the hill is very difficult to calculate.
