Minya Governorate

Al- Minya (Arabic محافظة المنيا Muhafazat al - Minyā, DMG Muhafazat al - Minyā ) is a governorate in Egypt with 4,179,309 inhabitants and is located in Middle Egypt.

It is bordered to the north by the Beni Suef Governorate, to the east by the province al -Bahr al Red Sea, on the south by the provinces of Asyut and al - New Valley and to the west by the province al - Giza. The eastern part of the province extends into the Arabian Desert. The administrative center is al - Minya.
