Miquel Asins Arbó

Miquel Asins Arbó, in Spanish Miguel Asins Arbó, ( born January 21, 1918 in Barcelona, † 26 October 1996 in Valencia) was a Spanish composer, conductor and teacher at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Real Madrid.

Life

His studies led him to Valencia, where he graduated with a diploma in excellent harmony with Pedro Sosa in 1935 as well as composition and folklore at Manuel Palau Boix. In 1937 he was conductor of a military brass band. In the meantime, he has received numerous awards and national and international awards for his works. In 1944 he was one of the Cuerpo de Música del Ejército de Directores de Tierra ( Board of the military band ).

He married María Josefa Cebrián Collado 1958 and moved with his family to Madrid, where he held the post of Director Capitán Músico in the military. In 1976, he left the military as Comandante del Regimiento de Infantería Inmemorial núm. 1, and was at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid professor. In this position remained until his retirement in 1985. From Defense Minister, he was awarded the Cruz del Mérito Militar de Primera Clase. In 1980 he was delegated to a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia.
