Miran (Xinjiang)

Miran (Chinese米兰 遗址, Pinyin Mǐlán yízhǐ ) is an ancient oasis town. It is located in the north of Lop Nor, between Qiemo County ( Cherchen, Chinese Qiemo ) and Dunhuang on the southern route of the Silk Road in the county Qakilik (若羌 县) of the Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture Bayingolin in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.

The ancient oasis town located in the administrative area of the present village Miran (Chinese米兰 村, pinyin Mǐlán CUN), which belongs to the " Production and Construction Corps No. 36" (兵团 三 十六 团) of the circle Qakilik, about 80 km northeast of Ruoqiang, the seat of county government.
