Miranda Richardson

Miranda Jane Richardson ( born March 3, 1958 in Southport, England) is a British actress.

Life

The father of Miranda Richardson, William Alan Richardson, was a senior executive in a clothing store. Her sister Leslie was born in 1949.

Already in his early youth Miranda Richardson appeared in school plays and showed here already decided talent. At the age of 17, she left school with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. However, they also attracted into consideration to study English literature at a university. She decided to focus on the drama and enroll at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School ( as many well-known British actors ). After three years she graduated and moved into repertory theater.

After her film debut in Dance with a Stranger from the year 1985, she was seen two years later in Steven Spielberg's film drama Empire of the Sun in a major supporting role, making her international breakthrough. The following years was followed by a number of other films in which Richardson took over leading roles as Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow, Kansas City, The Crying Game and Enchanted April, for which Richardson was awarded the Golden Globe. The younger audience is primarily known for her role as a scandal reporter Rita Skeeter in the Harry Potter films.

In addition to her film career, she set out in the UK as a television actress a name. She played in the second season of the series Blackadder the role of Queen Elizabeth I. In an episode of The Storyteller she appeared in a guest role as a witch. They also played in the 2006 sitcom The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle with Jennifer Saunders one of the main roles.

Miranda Richardson currently lives with her four pets in West London.
