Sports career

Celestino was in 1996 when Team Polti professional after he already went there last year as a stagiaire. In 1995 he was European champion in the road race ( U23 ). In 1999, he won the HEW cyclassics, the Tour of Lombardy and the Coppa Placci, 2001 Trofeo Laigueglia and Milan -Turin, he again was won by 2003. Also in 2003 he won the Settimana Internazionale.

For Saeco he participated in the 2004 at the Tour de France, but did not finish it. In the 2005 season Celestino drove in the ProTour team Domina Vacanze and was the Amstel Gold Race third place behind Danilo Di Luca and Michael Boogerd win. In 2006, he started once again in the Tour, but had to give up again early times.

After completing his road career end of 2007 Celestino moved to the mountain. There he was able to quickly achieve success especially in the marathon disciplines: In 2010 he won at the World Championships, the silver, the bronze medal in 2011.
