For admission procedure explained Joe Elliott, the band have recorded 30 to 40 concerts, from which the best shots were prioritized to make a selection for the album later: " We have listened to the same song in 15 different versions and us for each of the best version chosen. " And: " We were not looking for the perfect presentation, but for the perfect atmosphere of a song because we have the audience also included. If we had so > Bringing On The Heartbreak ' better to play or sing, but the audience was full of it and no better could have been, then that is the reason why we have chosen this version of the album. Reception

Mirrorball increased one week after the release in the U.S. at number 16 in the Billboard album charts and also reached the top position in the Hard Rock album charts.

The magazine Rocks wrote in a review of the album, it was a " live showcase with gaps " and criticized the fact that the band has left at the song selection, several albums of more than thirty -year career disregarded:

" Not surprisingly, that Pyromania and Hysteria clearly be the focus of song selection: DC eleven of the 21 numbers come from their two biggest classics. A disappointment ( but equally unsurprisingly) is equal to ignoring several albums of their career. In addition to the debut On Through the Night, the years 1996 to 2002 completely passed over the LPs Slang, Euphoria and X. From the recent work of Songs from the Sparkle Lounge there anyway to hear three songs. (...) Mirror Ball is recommended but not essential. Who wants to experience Def Leppard on their live zenith, the video In the Round or the Deluxe Edition of Pyromania, including the magnificent 's 1983 recording from the LA Forum was supposed to get.
