Mission San Francisco de Asís

The Mission San Francisco de Asís, also known as Mission Dolores, is the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco and the sixth mission of the Spanish missions in California as part of the El Camino Real in California. The Mission was founded on June 29, 1776 by Lieutenant José Joaquin Moraga and the Franciscan Father Francisco Palou, they were members of the expedition de Anza. The Mission San Francisco de Asís ( " La Misión Dolorosa " ) is under the direction of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco.

On March 16, 1972, the mission of the National Register of Historic Places was recorded.
