Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters, Servants of the Holy Spirit officially (Latin Spiritus Sancti Congregation Servarum - Order abbreviation: SSpS ), are a missionary women religious. The use of the term Holy Spirit Sisters is common in the religious province of Austria.

History

The first Mother Superior Helena Stollenwerk founded with sister Hendrina Stenmanns and Father Arnold Janssen in 1889 the Order of the Missionary Sisters. The mother house is in Steyl Province, Netherlands. The Order has subsidiaries, among others in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
