Missionsprovinsen

Want the Swedish Mission Province ( schwed. " Missionsprovinsen " ) is an association of Lutheran pastors from Sweden who defend themselves against an - them as such understood theological liberalism of the Swedish church and a " confessional faithful " ( conservative ) church province within this church form.

History

The foundation has the Swedish Mission Province has its roots in the 1950s, when the ministry for women was made possible in the Swedish Church by the Synod decision. Since this is contrary to the instruction of Scripture by some Lutheran theologians believe the Swedish pastors freedom of conscience was granted; this, in the church order retained, freedom of conscience has been repealed and the opponents of the ordination of women, access to the rectory was denied.

On 6 September 2003, the official founding of the Swedish Mission Province was as free diocese within the Church of Sweden. The Church of Sweden Mission considers the province as a schismatic movement and has dismissed the active pastors of the Mission Province from their parish.

On 5 February 2005 consecrated the conservative bishop of Kenya, Walter Obare Omwanza, the retired pastor Arne Olsson, bishop of the Swedish Mission Province. This consecration was an exchange of letters between the then Swedish Archbishop of Uppsala KG Hammar and Walter Obare Omwanza ahead, in which Obare Omwanza refers to the situation of the Lutheran churches in Germany and Sweden as endangered and the consecration Olsson bishop in response to the plight of the professing Lutheran Christians in Sweden called.
