Mitchell (crater)

Mitchell is an impact crater in the northeast of the Moon front on the southern edge of the Mare Frigoris. He is heavily eroded and is covered by the south-eastern wall of the great crater Aristotle.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the U.S. astronomer Maria Mitchell.
