Mitsubishi Ki-57

The Mitsubishi Ki -57 ( Allied Code Name: Topsy ) was a passenger aircraft, which was designed as a low-wing aircraft due to the demand of Japan Air Lines after a civilian version of the Mitsubishi Ki -21 bomber.

The first flight took place in August 1940. After the successful testing of the production of 100 series machines as MC -20-1 began for civilian purposes or as a transport aircraft Ki -57 -1 military purposes. The improved Ki- 57-2 followed in early 1942 and had, inter alia, a more powerful engine. From this version, 406 copies were built.
