Mitsubishi Material K. K. (Japanese三菱マテリアル 株式会社, Mitsubishi Materiaru Kabushiki - gaisha, Eng. , Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ) is a Japanese company with headquarters in Otemachi, Chiyoda, Tokyo. The roots of the Mitsubishi group can be dated to the year 1871 and are located in the mining sector. History

The origins of Mitsubishi can be traced back to 1870 when its founder Yataro Iwasaki built a small shipping company.
