Mitsuo Nakamura

Nakamura Mitsuo (Japanese中 村 光 夫, civil: Koba Ichirō (木 庭 一郎); born February 5, 1911 in the prefecture of Tokyo, † 12 July 1988) was a Japanese writer and literary critic.

Life

Already during his studies published in the journal Bungakukai Nakamura reviews (文学界, " The Literary World") and attracted attention with a study of the writer Futabatei Shimei. For this he received in 1936 the Iketani - Shinzaburo price. As a result, he published further work on Japanese and Western authors. In 1938 he was invited by the French government to study abroad, he had to break with the beginning of World War II.

In writings after the Second World War, Nakamura sat critical of the modern Japanese literature, particularly the genre of so-called first-person novels ( Watakushi SHOSETSU ) and the fuzoku novels that dealt with the modern urban life apart. He also published several plays and novels.
