The Mittelberg in Willingen is a 801 m above sea level. NN high hill of the Rothaargebirge in Waldeck- Frankenberg in northern Hesse ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The middle mountain is located in Upland, the northeastern part of the Rothaargebirge, in the natural park Diemelsee. Its summit rises about 1.5 kilometers south of Willingen- hoppers. From the summit there are just under 1,050 m (depending on distance) south-west to the border with North Rhine -Westphalia and thus to Hochsauerlandkreis. Happens the wooded mountain on its western flank from the upper reaches of the Hopp corner.

The neighboring mountains of the Central Mountain include Ettelsberg ( 837.7 m ) in the east, mill head (about 825 m) in the east-southeast, Hegekopf ( 842.9 m) in the south-southeast, Clemens Berg ( 839.2 m) in the south-south and, in each case beyond the Hoppecketal, Langenberg ( 843.1 m ) in the west and hopper head ( 805 m) in the north- northwest.

The central mountain belongs to the physiographic feature unit group Süder Bergland ( number 33) in the main unit Rothaargebirge ( with Sauerland ) ( 333) and in the subunit Winterberg Highlands ( 333.5 ) for natural space Langenberg ( 333.58 ).
