Geographical Location

Mittelsinn lies in the Würzburg region. An important aspect of geography means sense is the sense that runs through the town. On the arms they can be seen in the lower part (green background). Mittelsinn between Obersinn and castle sense.

Name

Etymology

The basic word in the name goes back to the place by flowing river sense. The addition " agent" has been used to (now Castle sense) means to distinguish sense from the nearby villages of Upper and Lower sense of meaning and refers to the situation in the valley.

History

Most of the former Office aura in mind the bottom of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg, which belonged to the Frankish Empire district was 1808, the Principality of Aschaffenburg (1803 only in Bavaria, 1805 to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg) fell, with which it became part of Bavaria in 1814. The local rights of the Electorate of Hesse -Kassel in 1860 fell to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Since at least the 19th century, Jewish families were resident who formed a Jewish community and in the town built their synagogue. In the pogrom of November 1938, the church was destroyed, what a plaque on the opposite Sparkasse recalls.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Shared and split up of red and gold, three silver lace front, rear diagonally crossed two red rods Office; down in a golden green mill wheel, covered by a silver shaft pile.

The three downcast silver tips indicate the affiliation to the Bishopric of Würzburg. The crossed bars represent the function of the place as the seat of a special tithe court dar. Since the 15th century, the domination were - and legal rights of several domination holders exercised jointly, there was a so-called four rule. Significant power holders were the masters of Thiingen and the Lords of Hutten. Remember the colors red and gold, both of which have coat of arms. The crossed bars in the municipal coat of arms also represent the set formed at the beginning of the 19th century and until 1866 the existing Bavarian- Hessian Kondominatsbezirk ( dominion ), belonged to the central sense. The pile shaft and the mill wheel symbolize the flow sense with its mills. The color green stands for the agricultural character of the community and the geographical location of the village between the Rhön and Spessart (see Geography ).

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of Agriculture and Forestry 5, 105 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 7 persons work at the workplace.
