Mittelstenahe

Mittelstenahe ( Low German Mittelsnohn ) is a municipality in the district of Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony. In addition to the main town Mittelstenahe also Nordahn and Varrel belong to the community.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms shows a silver background a wave beam, the the place its eponymous river symbolizes Mittelstenahe floodplain. The five Odalrunen ( three above, two below the wave beam ) stand for the first five yards of the place.

History

Mittelstenahe 1500 was first mentioned.

On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Nordahn and Varrel were incorporated.
