Mitternacher Ohe

The Mitter Acher Ohe with Eberhard Reuth from just before the confluence with the Big Ohe from the bridge of the federal road 85

The Mitter Acher Ohe is a right tributary of the Great Ohe and is also referred to as the third source of the river Ilz. It runs in the territories of the counties Freyung -Grafenau and rain.

Its main source is the Mark fountain on the eastern slope of the mountain ash north of Kirchdorf im Wald. From here, the first Schindelaubach called watercourse turns to the southwest and joins east of Kirchdorf with the Aubach to Röhrnachmühlbach. This complies with the general direction south until it forms at Kleinarmschlag ( Acc Eppenschlag ) together with the Gernsbach Mitterfeldallee Acher Ohe. Then runs mostly parallel to the highway 85 to the town of Mitternach ( Acc Schoenberg ) and flows east of it below Eberhard Reuth in the Big Ohe, which, in turn, about one kilometer further is at the confluence with the Little Ohe (Graf Ohe ) for Ilz.

On June 11, 1965 the conservation area was built on the Mitter Acher Ohe. It has the official name of protecting parts of the landscape in the field of Mitter Acher Ohe from Gmünd to Eberhard Reuth, County Grafenau and is 670 acres in size.
