Miura (Kanagawa)

Miura (Japanese三浦 市, -shi ) is a city in the south of Kanagawa Prefecture. Miura, south of Tokyo and Yokohama on the Miura Peninsula on the Sagami Bay and Tokyo Bay.

Miura is known for the Miura Marathon, which is usually held in the first week of March. The race consists of distances over 5 km, 10 km and half marathon. Due to the many hills and slopes, it has a high difficulty level. The highest point of the race is 72 m above sea level. NN.

The town is part of the port of Misaki, who was in the 18th century, the main port of Japan and now the second most important for tuna.
