Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu

Duli Yang Maha Mulia Al Wathiqu Billah, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Al- Ibni Almarhum Al- Sultan Mahmud Al- Muktafi Billah Shah Al- Haj ( born January 22, 1962 in Kuala Terengganu, capital of Terengganu ) is the 17th Sultan of Terengganu and was from 2007 to 2011 the 13th Yang di - Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

Life

His Mizan Zainal Abidin received university education in Australia and the UK. Since 28 March 1996, he is married to Sultanah Only Zahirah. The couple has two sons and two daughters.

On May 15, 1998 he was crowned Sultan of Terengganu. At 36 he was the youngest-ever carrier of this title. Since 26 April 1999, he was deputy king of Malaysia.

According to the principle of rotation, he was on 3 November 2006 by the nine sultans of Malaysia Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin as successor, the Raja of Perlis, the 13th Yang di - Pertuan Agong ( "first among the highest Highnesses ", corresponds to the title of king ) is selected.
