Mizengo Pinda

Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda ( born August 12, 1948 in Mpanda in Rukwa Region) is a Tanzanian politician ( Chama Cha Mapinduzi ). He is from February 2008 Prime Minister of his country.

Life

Pinda studied until 1974 at the University of Dar es Salaam, then he worked as a lawyer in the Justice Department. From 1978 to 1982 worked as Pinda Sicherheitsbeauftrager of the State House, the official residence of the President of Tanzania, and from 1982 to 1992 as its secretary. From 1996 to 2000 he was Secretary of the Cabinet, since 2000, Member of Parliament for the constituency of East Mpanda. In addition, he was appointed Minister of State at the same time only to the Prime Minister of Regional and Municipal Affairs Bureau, its position to a full ministerial post was brought on 4 January 2006. Pinda was appointed on 8 February 2008 by President Jakaya Kikwete as successor to the allegations of corruption resigned Edward Lowassa as prime minister. The appointment was approved by Parliament on 9 February 2008, only two votes against and an invalid vote with 279 votes and Pinda was sworn in on the same day Chamwino State House in Dodoma. He has since February 9, 2008 Prime Minister of Tanzania.

The February 12, presented and led by Pinda Cabinet has become smaller with 26 against 29 ministers and 21 versus 31 deputy ministers from the previous Cabinet.
