Mizque

Mizque ( Quechua: Misk'i ) is a country town in the Cochabamba Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The town was founded on September 20, 1603 by the Spaniards, their name comes from the word misk'i in the Quechua language and means " sweet mild".

Mizque is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Mizque and seat of the administration of the province Mizque. The village lies at an altitude of 2014 m in the valley of the Río Uyuchama in the mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental.

Geography

Mizque lies between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central. The climate is characterized by year-round spring-like temperatures and low rainfall.

The average annual temperature of the region is about 20 ° C (see climate chart Mizque ) and an annual rainfall of 550 mm. The warmest month is November with an average of just over 22 ° C, coldest months are June and July with about 17 ° C. Mizque also lies on the railway line Cochabamba Aiquile. However, the station is on the other side of the river and is very cumbersome accessible for residents.
