Mladkov

Mladkov ( German Wichstadtl ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-west of Międzylesie near the Polish border in the Eagle Mountains and belongs to Okres Ústí nad Orlicí.

Geography

Mladkov lies south of the country Glatzer on the right bank of the Silent Eagle. Southeast of the town, the 842 m high rises Vysoký kámen ( high stone). By Mladkov leads the state road 312 between Žamberk and Králíky the crosses in place with the 311 Lanškroun after Destna. In the district Petrovičky there is a border crossing for local border traffic into Polish Kamieńczyk.

Neighboring towns are Petrovičky in the north, Lichkova in the east, and Dolany Celné in the south, Vlčkovice in the southwest, and Vitanov Pastviny in the west and České Petrovice in the northwest.

History

At the transition from the 13th to the 14th century, the colonization of the forests on the upper reaches of the Silent Eagle began. In the first half of the 14th century ore deposits have been discovered, and there was a settlement of miners. The first mention of Wyskenstad dates from 1367th During this time, the first church was built. Until the beginning of the 16th century the village belonged to the rule Žampach. 1513 was Jan von Žampach and Potštejn build a fortress. In 1577 Wichstadtl was designated as town, and there was a glassworks in operation.

Until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848, the counts were Althann long time owner of Wichstadtl. Then Wichstadtl was to Bezirkshauptmannschaft Senftenberg associated. 1898 was the place a railway connection.

Between 1935 and 1938 several bunker lines of the Czechoslovak Walls came here to ensure the Tales of the Silent Eagle. After the Munich Agreement, the village was incorporated into the German Reich and was until 1945 part of the German district Grulich. After the end of the Second World War, the German inhabitants were expelled.
