As Młoda Ekstraklasa (abbreviation ME ) is the highest Polish Junior Football League was called.

History

The Młoda Ekstraklasa was created in 2007 by the Polish Football Association ( PZPN ) to life in order to pit the youth teams of the 16 clubs in the Ekstraklasa against each other and to introduce young players to the first team. Players may not be younger than 16 years and by year of moderate not be older than 21 years. Each team is also permitted to have three players in the squad who are older. Therefore, players are often the second team or professional players who are in rehabilitation training after injury, used in the Młoda Ekstraklasa. In the first season 2007/ 08 but only 15 teams took part, as Widzew Łódź renounced participation.

In March 2013 it was announced that the league is set at the end of the 2012/13 season and will be replaced by the Centralna League Juniorów.

Game Mode

16 teams played in round-trip round against each other to determine the Polish Youth Champion. For a victory, there were three points for a draw and one point for a loss, there were no points. The team that finished the season had the most points, was a Polish Youth Champion. If two teams at the end of the season have had an equal number of points, the direct comparison of the two season games between these two teams, who was better placed decided.
