Mobile Country Code
The Mobile Country Code is set by the ITU standard E.212 country code, which is used together with the Mobile Network Code identifying a mobile network.
Based on the first digit of the MCC, a rough geographical correlation to be made:
- 2 - Europe
- 3 - North America and Caribbean
- 5 - Australia and Oceania
- 6 - Africa
- 7 - South America
- 9 - World
A special case of the MCC 901, he does not name a country, but is used for services that are world received or used. It is referred to by the ITU as a shared mobile country code.
MCC and MNC are for example a part of the IMSI, the PLMN - id and the LAI.
