Mobile World Congress

The GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC ) is an annual fair since 1987 around the mobile. By 2007, the show was known as 3GSM World Congress. However, the organizers of the GSM Association decided to rename the 2008 to take into account the latest developments in the field optimally with the name. The MWC is the biggest mobile show in Europe.

From 1996 to 2005 the fair was held on a site on the Côte d' Azur in Cannes. 2006, the fair was postponed, however, because of capacity constraints in Cannes and the planned renovation of the local central Congress building to Spain on about twice as large fairgrounds on Montjuïc in Barcelona with better transport infrastructure. In the first half of 2011 negotiations took place on the venue of the fair from the year 2013. Was a choice of Barcelona, ​​Milan, Paris and Munich. In July 2011, the organizers decided to hold for another five years at the venue of Barcelona. The MWC 2014 was held from 24 to 27 February in Barcelona.
