The Moers station located on the 1904 built by the Prussian state railways Lower Rhine route. It lies on the eastern edge of Moers city center on the road to Duisburg -Homberg. The local train station is now a stop on the RB 31

Behind the reception building of 1904 are the four station tracks with their two 230 meter or 239 meter long platforms in high position. Opposite the station building on the other side of the station forecourt is the platform of the station circle of the former Moers circular path, now part of the NIAG. It is still used for special trips.

Directly on the Moers station branches off the siding NIAG vehicle workshop and Vossloh service center Moers.

In passenger line travels RB 31 The Lower Rhine. It is named after the original name of the Lower Rhine route Hippe -Express. The RB 31 runs from Duisburg Moers to Xanten. The total distance is served hourly. Every half hour the trains the leg of Duisburg- Moers. By December 2009, the RB was 31 by Deutsche Bahn (DBAG ) operated. Since this is where the North Western Railway ( NCA ). In addition, the freight line from Duisburg -Beeck to Duisburg -Rheinhausen performs the Moers station.

History

The first station of Moers was east of the present station on the route from the ferry Ruhrort -Homberg to Moers, which was opened in 1883. 1904, the station was moved to its present location. The route to Homberg was decommissioned in 1908 and replaced by a tram.

1882 of the Krefeld Railway Company Station was built on the station forecourt. From there, wrong trains over Niep and sleeve to Krefeld. In 1886 a transfer to the state railway track was built north of the station. The passenger was from 1932 to 1939 temporarily and all set on 3 October 1949. On 15 February 1974 and the freight to Moers has been discontinued and removed the track afterwards.

To the west of this station on the station forecourt is since 1909 the executed as terminus station of Moers circular path, leading from the routes to Hörstgen - Sevelen and to Rheinberg on Orsoy. The regularly scheduled passenger traffic was set on 28 September 1968. Again, there are north of the station a handover to the state railway, which is also still in use today.
