Mogale City Local Municipality

Mogale City (English Mogale City Local Municipality ) is a town in South Africa's District West Rand in Gauteng Province. The administrative center of the municipality is located in Krugersdorp. Koketso Calvin Seerane is the mayor. The ANC represents the majority in the City Council. Since the UNESCO World Heritage Site Cradle of Humankind (English Cradle of Humankind ) is located within the community, to Mogale is also called City of Human Origin (English for " town of the origin of man ").

The namesake of the municipality is Mogale, a king of the Batswana from the 19th century. The municipality covers an area of 1100 square kilometers. 2007, the municipality had 319 633 inhabitants according to projections.

Geography

Mogale City is located in the west of the district and meets there with the North West Province. South of the village are Merafong City and Randfontein and east of Johannesburg and Tshwane. Places in the community are Battery, Elberta, Hekpoort, Krugersdorp, Luipaardsvlei, Magaliesburg, Muldersdrif, Nooitgedacht and Thorndale. About the National Road N14 the community is connected to the transport network.

By Mogale City, the rivers flow Magalies, Rietspruit, crocodile and Mooirivierloop. Furthermore, there is also a lake in the municipality, the Lancaster Dam.
