Moghegno

Moghegno is a former municipality in the district of Valle Maggia the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The town is located on the right side of the Maggia river, about 15 km north of Locarno.

The village lies at an altitude of 319 m.s.l.m. In 2003, before the congregation fusion lived 376 inhabitants in an area of ​​696 ha community

The village is now part of the established church in April 2004 Maggia. It is north of Locarno west of the river Maggia.

History

Moghegno was first documented in the year 1335. Still be found in the village, many houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. Interesting are also other examples of rural culture such as the right cut in the rock big fountain, the mills and the large laundry.
