Mogollon, New Mexico

Mogollon is a ghost town in the Mogollon Mountains in New Mexico in the United States.

Location

The place is on the road 159 ( Bursum Road). At the federal state border with Arizona, there are about 30 km to the west. North to Springerville, Arizona and Silver City in the south are both about 80 km.

History

Mogollon emerged at the end of the 19th century as a mining town. With closure of the last mine in 1952 orphaned the city. In 1973, she served as the backdrop for the spaghetti western My Name Is Nobody. On the National Register of Historic Places, the former city is listed as the Mogollon Historic District.
