Mohamed Timoumi

Mohammed Timoumi (Arabic محمد التيمومي, DMG Muḥammad at- Tīmūmī; born January 15, 1960 in Rabat ) is a former Moroccan football player. In 1985 he was elected to the African Footballer of the Year, a year later he participated in the World Cup in Mexico in 1986, where he " the soul of the Moroccan game" and excelled as his team reached the knockout stages. On the club level Timmouni first played at Union de Touarga, later Timmouni won the African Champions League with FAR Rabat, the Moroccan football club greatest of his time. Later, he also played at KSC Lokeren and at Real Murcia, where he had but rather only recorded failures - that's why he ended his career early. Despite his great success, many experts believe that Timoumi, 've also due to some serious injuries, his potential never fully realized; yet he is generally regarded as the greatest footballer of Moroccan since Larbi Ben Barek.
