Mohammed bin Hammam

Mohamed bin Hammam (Arabic: محمد بن همام العبد الله, DMG Muḥammad al - ʿ b hamam Abd Allāh, . Born May 8, 1949 in Doha) is a Qatari businessman. He has served as an internationally known football official.

Life

Before Mohamed bin Hammam drew attention to himself as a football official, he had his own business groups since 1976 Managing Director. As early as 1972 he was president of the Qatari club Al- Rayyan SC. A post he pointed out to 1987. During this time, bin Hammam could win with his club 1976, 1978, 1982, 1984 and 1986 national championship. 1977 and 1982 was also his team in the final of the Emir of Qatar Cup, but lost each.

From 1979 to 1983 he led the Qatari volleyball and table tennis federation as president.

Later, from 1992, was bin Hammam President of the Football Federation of Qatar and organized within six weeks of the Junior World Cup in 1995. 1996 he was elected a member of the FIFA Executive Committee. In 2009 he was re- elected for a four year term by the members of the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC). Bin Hammam is considered a close confidant of the Emir of Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and is said to have contributed to the fact that the FIFA Executive Committee, the FIFA World Cup 2022 awarded to Qatar.

Since 2002 he was president of the AFC; last he was re-elected in 2011. After he was suspended due to allegations of bribery, the Chinese Zhang Jilong took office in June 2011. His announced in March 2011 candidacy for the office of President of FIFA as a challenger to the current acting Sepp Blatter he withdrew three days before the election. End of May 2011 Mohamed Bin Hammam had to answer before the Ethics Committee of the World Federation on bribery charges. He was suspected to have violated the Code of Ethics of FIFA.

He was provisionally suspended along with Jack Warner. They are said to have violated the Code of Ethics of FIFA by they should have tried at the meeting of the Caribbean Football Union for the election 'm hammams to buy FIFA President voices.

FIFA announced on 23 July 2011, after two days of negotiations, announced that he was disabled for life by FIFA of corruption. However, the International Sports Court overturned the lifetime ban on July 19, 2012, without declaring him innocent. FIFA locked him then turn provisionally for 90 days and the FIFA Ethics Commission opened proceedings against him. On 17 December 2012, decided to suspend him for life.
