History

The franchise of the Dayton Ice Bandits of the United Hockey League was formed in 1998 from Dayton, Ohio, to Utica, New York, relocated and renamed Mahowk Valley Prowlers. Your greater success in its three years of existence was to reach the second round of the playoffs to the Colonial Cup in season 1999/2000. After they had finished second in the Eastern Division, they won first against the Missouri River Otters before they failed in round two at the Quad City Mallards finalists with 1:4 victories in the best- of-seven series. In 1999 and 2001, the team missed the playoffs in each case. Following the 2000/ 01 season, the franchise was dissolved.
