Moises Jinich

Moisés Jinich (* in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican football player at the position of a winger. He is the only Jew who has ever participated for the Mexican national team in a World Cup. His only international duty, he completed on January 10, 1954 in a World Cup qualifying match against the USA, which was won 4-0.

Life

Moisés Jinich Bruk was during his professional career at the then still based in the capital clubs Atlante and Necaxa under contract that were considered bitter rivals of the capital of football during the amateur era in the 1930s and early 1940s. In addition Jinich still played on amateur basis in 1948 introduced League Inter Clubes and was a member of the Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Football Federation.

After ending his playing career Jinich worked as a surgeon at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Today, almost ninety years Jinich lives in Merida, Yucatan.
