The Moksha - Mordvinian ( Moksha мокшень, mokschen ) is the smaller of the two main dialects of Mordovia language, which belongs to the Volga- Finnish group of the Finno -Ugric languages. Moksha is used by about one-third of the 750,000 speakers of Mordovian.
Special features of the Mokschanischen
In contrast to Ersjanischen that, u know only the vowel phonemes a, e, i, o, has the Mokschanische the sounds ä and y (reduced sound similar to the Russian ы ) and stresses usually on the first syllable. In addition, the Mokschanische has twelve case ( eleven in Ersjanischen ). In Mokschanischen larger influences of the Tatar are demonstrated.
Language
As part of the Joint Programme " Minorities in Russia: Developing Culture, Language, Media and Civil Society " of Europe, the European Commission and Russia four project applications were submitted in Mordovia, aimed at promoting the ersänischen and mokschanischen language to the target.
