Moldava (Teplice District)

Moldava ( German Moldova ) is a municipality at the Freiberger Mulde in the Czech Republic.

Location

Moldava is located in the Eastern Ore Mountains about 25 km northwest of Teplice to 785 m asl The community belongs to the Okres Teplice, Usti nad Labem Region. In the southeast, is located 909 meters is the second highest mountain in the Ore Mountains, the Pramenáč ( Bornhauberg ) and south of the 869 m high Bouřňák ( striker ). Between Moldava and his district Nove Mesto are the sources of the Freiberger Mulde, Floeha and Wilder Weißeritz. The nearest place is Czech Mikulov v Krušných horach ( Niklas Berg) on the steep slope of the mountain. A border crossing that was blocked for trucks, leading to Neurehefeld, a hamlet in the town of Altenberg in Saxony.

History

The first written record comes from the year 1346 as a glass -making community with a church. During the Thirty Years War, the glassworks were received, the people devoted to animal husbandry, forestry and the fluorite - promotion. The Old Freiberg Teplitz Post Road from the 18th century led over Moldava and Nové Mesto (New Town ) down into the North Bohemian Basin. In 1884 was born in Moldova, the frontier station on the railway from Brüx to Freiberg. The Freiberg - Moldova is shut down by Holzhau to, from Most ( Brux ) from even trains. These earlier Teplitzer Semmeringbahn named range was built to transport the lignite from the Brüx pool to Saxony. Until 1946 lived in Moldova mainly German Bohemia. Here today live mainly Czechs, whose families have moved to the end of the Second World War from the interior here.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Moldava Moldavia ( Moldova ) and Nové Mesto (New Town also Newenstat or Nova Civitas ) .. basic settlement units are Moldava, Nové Město, Oldřiš ( Ullersdorf ) and Pastviny (Green Forest).

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Moldava, Nove Mesto u Mikulova, Oldřiš u Moldavy and Pastviny u Moldavy.
