Molde FK

Molde FK (Molde Fotballklubb ) is a football club from Molde, Norway. The club was founded on 19 June 1911. Abode is the Aker Stadium with a capacity of 11,167 seats. The team plays in blue and white jerseys.

History

Molde FK won the previous two times the Norwegian Cup competition ( 1994 and 2005 ). In the 2011 season for the first time succeeded in winning the Norwegian Football Cup, in the 2012 season the title was defended successfully a game to spare. In addition there are runner-up in the years 1974, 1987, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2009. 1999 took the club to the UEFA Champions League. This means that Molde and record champions Rosenborg BK the only Norwegian clubs that have ever participated in the Champions League.

In the 2005 season Molde FK could only reach the 12th place in the championship and therefore had two play-off games against Moss FK struggling to stay in the top league. Molde won the playoffs 3-2 and 2-0 and thus also played 2006 in the Tippeligaen. As a runner-up 2009, Molde FK qualified for the qualification for the UEFA Europa League 2010/11. In the third qualifying round, the team met the VfB Stuttgart and retired after a 2:3 home defeat and a 2-2 draw in Stuttgart, where the Norwegians were in front 2-0 in the second leg until the 54th minute, which for a would have been sufficient progress. Since the club in the League 2010 season with 20 points from 22 matches expectations was not just, end of August 2010 coach Kjell Jonevret was replaced by the former East German national player Uwe Rösler. This in turn left, at his own request, Molde FK and moved to the English city of Manchester football to make his post for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer freely, this moved after 15 years in Manchester now back in his homeland. 2011 Molde was Solskjær Norwegian champion and then took part in the qualification for the UEFA Champions League. In the second qualifying round FK Ventspils was defeated before the team failed in the third qualifying round FC Basel; in the return leg missed Magne Hoseth in stoppage time at the registry of 1:1 a penalty, which Molde FK would have qualified for the play-offs. In the play-offs for the Europa League, the club SC Heerenveen, which Molde FK qualified for the group stage defeat. There Molde FK played against Steaua Bucharest, FC Copenhagen and VfB Stuttgart.
