Mole (Zdeněk Miler character)

The Little Mole is a Czech animated series. It was created by illustrator Zdeněk Miler in Prague in 1957.

Miler was looking for a film about the processing of flax after a cartoon character and stumbled, according to the legend, over a molehill. So the film was How the mole got his pants, with the Miler won the Silver Lion in Venice. The best friends of the Little Mole are the hare, the hedgehog and mouse. In the films the life in nature is also compared with the environment in the city, as well as the naive and childlike life of the animals of the everyday lives of people. Initially, the mole was not speaking yet, later, so that it is understood everywhere in the world.

Since 1963 the mole was regularly seen in the Czechoslovak and later Czech television. In the Czech original called the mole Krtek ( tschech. "mole" ) or Krteček ( tschech. " Maulwürfchen "). He was there the star of the Czech children's show Večerníček. In a total of 80 countries of the Little Mole was a success. The figure in West Germany by the program with the mouse became known. In a video edition he ran partially under the name Pauli. Last created in 2002 a feature-length animated film of the Little Mole; However, this movie is just a compilation of the first twelve episodes.

The music was composed by Miloš Vacek, from 1974 onwards, Vadim Petrov.
