Moledet

Moledet (Hebrew: מולדת, homeland ) is a nationalist party in Israel.

Main concern is the illegal expulsion of the indigenous Palestinian population from their homes in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza.

Moledet was founded in 1988 by Rehavam Ze'evi. This was in 2001 assassinated the PFLP.

2001 Rabbi Benjamin Elon was elected chairman of the Moledet. 1999 formed the national parties Ha - Herut Hadasha and Tekumah together with Moledet the National Union.

In the 17th Knesset (2006-2009), Moledet was represented by two Members of Parliament in the Israeli parliament: Elon and Arieh Eldad. 2001 Moledet was included in the Sharon government and Ze'evi was tourism minister. After his death in October 2001, it was occupied by Elon. 2004 Elon left the government in protest against the withdrawal of the Israeli army and the dissolution of the illegal settlements.

On 3 November 2008, the party decided that the election list National Union should be formed into a right-wing party. This happened under the name HaBajit haJehudi. In the 2009 election, the Union won four seats, one of which went to the Moledet member Ya'akov Katz.
