Momijigari

Momijigari (Japanese紅葉狩り) from the Japanese momiji (红叶, dt " Red Leaves " or "Autumn Leaves " ) and kari (狩り" hunting " ) refers to the Japanese custom of autumn landscapes and parks with beautiful autumnal foliage, particularly of maples and forests to visit.

It is referred to in Hokkaido as kanpūkai (観 枫 会). The custom is considered as Hanami as an achievement of the Heian period and led to the installation of appropriate parks around Kyoto and Nikko. When Indian Summer in North America and the Indian summer in Central Europe, however, the associated natural spectacle is emphasized.

Momijigari also called a Kabuki adaptation of an older Noh drama, which premiered in 1887.
