Momo (company)

Momo is a manufacturer of steering wheels and rims, which are primarily used in motor sports, but also in the upper range of accessories for automobiles or as a special computer models in racing games. In addition, still tuning and racing parts and accessories are sold (driver equipment, six -point harnesses, helmets, karting equipment).

Momo is an abbreviation for Moretti, Monza, after the name of the company founder and Italian racer Giampiero Moretti (1944-2012) and the headquarters Monza. The company was founded in the early 1960s. 1964 Ferrari Formula 1 car of the world champion John Surtees was equipped with a Momo steering wheel.

For production cars, the steering wheels were usually too expensive; was limited to the aftermarket. Under the name " Momo Corse " a second, not so sophisticated product line for licensable components was opened. The classic " Momo " products are designed for use in racing.

In cooperation with the Swiss manufacturer of computer accessories Logitech emerged steering wheels and pedal sets for racing games.
