Controversies surrounding imprimatur and exile

The two authors present their respective book titles are working on a seven-part book series claims to the quote imprimatur secretum, veritas mysterium. Unicum ... (translated: Even when publicly disclosing a secret, the truth remains a mystery ... alone. ) Follow, always the last two words (and book titles ) can be omitted. In this Atto Melani plays (* 1626, † 1714), an Italian castrato, diplomat, writer and spy of the Sun King Louis XIV, one of the central figures. The first three parts have already appeared.

During her years of research for the first part, imprimatur, they found a font Melanis to Louis XIV, which was published under the title The Secrets of the conclaves and the vices of the Cardinals (ISBN 3-608-93737-4 ). One of the most significant discoveries of the two authors were the relationships between Pope Innocent XI. and William III. (also William of Orange ), where the former has the Protestant William in the war against the Sun King Louis XIV, and the English King James II ( James II ), a well-established Catholics supported. The publication of the first book in which these relationships were described and assigned to documents, also was close in time to the process of canonization Innocent. ' XI. , Which was aborted by the publication of the book, as this. Due to the financial support of William III the Protestant faith in England and strengthened the Catholic weakened greatly.

As these and other discoveries of the two authors were published in the books, it rained strong criticism from members of the Catholic Church who were also instrumental in accordance with assumption of the two authors responsible for ensuring that their debut imprimatur after the first 15,000 copies in the Mondadori has not been reissued, although both readers and the authors themselves have expressed strong interest in a further edition. There was, however, despite placing 4 in the Italian bestseller list, no new edition of the book, which Francesco product range established so that "we probably have excited a high priest in the Vatican, but we do not know whom, then no one wanted to have to do with us [ ... ] " ( " Evidently we managed to upset someone senior in the Vatican, we do not know who, and after did no one would deal with us [ ... ] ", Francesco product range in an interview with the Daily Telegraph) This was confirmed by a journalist from the RAI ( Radiotelevisione Italiana ) in an anonymous interview in the course of which he referred to the book in Italy as a taboo.

The two authors had to recover after the publication of great difficulties the rights to their own book from the publisher to let it hang back in self-imposed exile, what they taught the same, in the future, not only assign the rights to their books. In the interview with the British Daily Telegraph Monaldi and her husband gave further these relationships between Innocent XI. and William III. as a trigger for the obvious to boycott her book in Italy. They got further large area to feel the resentment and negative attitude of the Catholic Church and the people, and they were even referred to as criminals. Then they chose exile in Vienna, from where they could imprimatur in Dutch publisher De Bezige Bij in four years to publish in Italian, but with the self-imposed restriction that the book is sold only on the Internet or in Italian book shops outside Italy.

A spokesman for the Vatican Commenting on the publication of the book Stop it, " that it is strange that they accuse us of conspiracy. If her historical novel has sold 15,000 copies in Italy, they should be happy. These are exceptionally good numbers for a kind of book. " ( " It Seems strange thatthey would accuse us of conspiracy. Certainly, if Their historical novel Has managed to sell 15,000 copies in Italy, They Should Be happy. This is a good figure did for type of book. " )

The publisher Mondadori contradicted the sales of the book through an agent and said " that we, the Italian publisher of Dan Brown's works are [ the publisher ], which were much harder to publish; so I come to the conclusion that we were not troubled by the assumptions in this book. " ( " We are the Italian publishers of Dan Brown [ the author of The Da Vinci Code ] Which was much harder to release, so I don 't think we would have been troubled by the suggestions in this book. " )
