Monapo District
Monapo is a district in northern Mozambique.
Geography and administration
Monapo lies in the west of the province of Nampula. In the north Monapo borders the district Nacarôa, on the west by Muecate and Meconta, to the south Mogincual, and to the east by Mossuril and Nacala -a- Velha.
The district is named after its chief town Monapo and has an area of 3598 km ². It consists of three Postos Administrativos: Itoculo, Netia and Monapo.
Population
The population is 245 414 inhabitants Monapos, which corresponds to a population density of 68.2 inhabitants per square kilometers.
Traffic
The railway line of the national railway company Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique from Nacala to Lichinga crosses the district with a stop in the capital of the district.
